Too bad it wasnt that great ): The deejays, High Kicks, played electro music but sadly the best part was when they played Madonna's 'Hung Up' and it wasnt even electro. There was no song transition and even then, the next song would always have a different beat/rhythm. R&B is still the best! Haha.
But overall had fun with the bowlers. Anuaar and Warren brought light sticks and we hung them around our necks, wrists, belt loops (Anuaar), etc. The guys placed their light sticks which were around their necks in their tops so they looked like walking lanterns. Haha. One Zouk crew member copied them :P
And omg I saw Mr. Kim there!!! He's a sort-of regular in my bar and I have a mini crush on him hehe. I noticed him when I saw his side profile (it's unmistakeable cos he has rather dark features) and I kind of encircled around him and lo and behold twas HIM! I waved rather enthusiastically and went, "HIIIII!" when in front of him and he gave me this who-are-you face then I was like oh-shit then his facial expression showed that he sort of/kind of recognises me but couldnt put his finger on who the heck I am so I was super paiseh that time so I just smiled most-paisehly and practically ran off! So so paisehhhhhhh. Haha. I still feel paiseh now la, typing this. Haha. I mustve looked like a stalker!

Today! Went over to Taytay's house as usual. Watched XXY, this Argentinian film about a 15 year old girl/boy who was born with both girl and boy genes and his/her struggles. It's quite sad cos it's really difficult on him/her and his/her family. After that had dinner- Char's mum made us ribs yumyummm :D But after the movie and during dinner we had a long discussion (mostly for my dear son's information cos he was confused. Sex education in secondary school apparently werent informative enough for guys, we concluded, and thinking further, maybe for some girls too haha) or education on the position of certain parts of the body which was brought up after watching XXY. Go look the movie up if youre interested cos it really makes you think about the difficulties of people who are sexually-disoriented like Alex and Alvando (who's gay). We then headed to have ice-cream at The Ice Cream Gallery, shopped a bit at Cold Storage for Charlene before heading back to watch part of The Nanny Diaries cos we had to rush off to pick up Vic's mum.
Haha what a weekend. Next weekend's Singfest woot! Cant wait (:

I finally caught RED CLIFF yesterday wheeee :D
Been waiting for my mum to watch it with me but she always postpones the date till we dont have one anymore and Reg wasnt keen ): So jumped at the chance when Glenn and Darryl wanted to watch it too (: I love war movies, especially those which took place in medieval times. HAHA. Love the costumes- gladiator-esque, long hair on the guys and elaborate dresses on the girls, etc. Give me Black Hawk Down, Lord of the Rings, Warlords, Narnia, I will love it. Haha.
Back to Red Cliff! Takeshi Kaneshiro!!! *fangirls* He's the top actor on my list now. His acting prowess is fantastic. He's the Chief Strategist for the wars in which the Sun Quan and Wu clans partook in against the Han clan and being a strategist he doesnt actually draw a sword and runs around slashing enemies but instead is the brains, yknow? Hence his character is one who is cool, calm, clever but a lil flamboyant (with the goose fan omg haha) but he's so charming all the same! :D Am still awed by his Mandarin, though the actors did do a voice-over after the filming (youll definitely notice it! Their mouths and words dont go in sync too much haha!). Loved him in Warlords most cos he did partake in the war and moved about, showcasing his fighting prowess. And also the last heart-wrenching part where he continued to walk towards the other brother? King? Cant remember ahhh! Yeah so anyways he was whipped/beaten at the leg and I think it broke but he continued on and somebody still went on to break his arms/legs and seeing him struggling is so sad. He acted so well in there. Alright I think I will go on and on and this will never end so I will stop here. Haha! So watch this space till he comes out with another movie! (Red Cliff Part 2's coming out Jan 2009! :D:D:D )
Met up with Oli, Kwann, Shamayne, Kengyin, Rhonda and Elizabeth at Oli's house on Tuesday cos Oli and Kwann are leaving soon to Aussie ): Though twas a short meeting, theyre all my primary school friends so twas a nice short catch up (: We ended up just watching Beach. Ball. Babes, the Chinese 9pm show, and played cards. Haha.
I cant wait to vegetate between 15th August and 7th October, when I officially resign from work and when I start school respectively. It will be such a luxury (: I havent been vegetating since last December, that's how long it has been. Haha. Am looking forward to watching shows on YouTube such as America's Next Top Model (I watched an entire season on YouTube after A's last year can you believe it!), movies on movie6, learning some Jap and Korean, (window!)shopping, spending the whole day on my bed reading (Krystal you have to lend me your Shopaholic series cos I'm getting hooked!), etc etc. Yeah, some vegetating activities. Haha. Maybe I shouldnt use the word vegetating anymore cos it sounds like an omen. Like a person in a coma. OK how about lazing around partaking in non-productive activities (:

AYE YAM GOING TO SINGFEST!
Jason Mraz (aye yam gna hear him for the second time!!! :D ), OneRepublic (stop and stareeeeeee!), PCD (doncha!!!), etc etc! Wheeeeeeeeee! But will be WORKING there la, not really jumping about. Cos Harry's is gna set up some bars there. Hope I'm bartending instead of waitressing.
Aye yam also so glad that I had a talk with one of my superiors at work yesterday. Everything is better now. I think I can probably last for another month. Let's hope sooooo.
Yesterday had a great Gyoza Party at Charlene's. HAHA. Charlene's grandma made for us like 100 gyozas!!! There were only Shamayne, Charlene and I so we tried our best, I think we ate like 60 (or more we didnt count?!). Haha they were really yummy! We ended the night by re-watching Super Junior Exploration of the Human Body on YouTube, the episode where they had to test their sense of balance after being spun around. IT'S SO HILARIOUS LA. They gotta try to walk down this platform to the end and stand up on one leg but all of them couldnt make it ahaha! Most of them ran sideways when they thought they were running forward. And that episode had Heechul looking way too cute dancing to 'Tell Me' by the Wonder Girls xD Then continued watching Human Tetris which is also absolutely cracktastic as well xD Left Char's place at11.45 and we cabbed home.
Please let this happy spell continue.
Been picking on my tattoo. The scabs la. So very tempting. Haha. Theyre all off already, but somehow somemore seemed to have formed after picking the old ones out. So it's still very ugly at the moment. Heal heal heal!

I cant wait to FO from that particular workplace. Really. Some of the people have really went out of line and I just cant tolerate it anymore. I feel cheated and abused. Cheated because I was looking forward to finishing up my last month there by going back into the bar but the heads decided to put me on the floor till I quit. They did not talk to me about it beforehand, I felt like a brick was dropped onto my head. I understand that they need to train this guy up to be a bartender but I was told he is much needed to be on the floor cos there are so many cock ups when he left the floor. Then now?!?! I feel like I've been sent to another outlet cos they need help on the floor. I'm officially a barmaid for heaven's sake. Abused because I cant stand a certain someone who likes to shove you aside (literally!) when you are somehow in her way. It gets irritating after much pushing and shoving, not forgiving.
They may be harsh words (cheated, abused) but I seriously feel this way.
I cant wait to FO!!!
Saying that, I will miss so many people whom I wont get to meet at transport anymore cos I wont be able to take transport anymore. I work morning shifts when I do floor. Argh.
I really need a change of environment.

INKED!

The tools which the needles are supposed to be in.
This is when we started. I requested for something soft to hug cos the chair was plastic and it didnt feel comfortable. Haha. Deb piped in, "Yeah dont you have a stuffed toy?" Gary was like, "No..." but he spotted a dusty giraffe in front of us and I grabbed it in an instant. Haha. Cos I wanted to squeeze something if the pain gets unbearable.
First stroke of forever-will-be-there ink! It wasnt was painful as I thought/ expected it to be actually. So when everyone asked, "Eh! Pain or not?!" I was like, "Not really" Veronica couldnt believe it cos she said the tattoo tools look much more intimidating than the tools used when she gave birth. Haha. Really, it was tolerable pain and I think using a penknife to cut the skin will be more painful.
Continuing with the outline.
After awhile, the outline is done! On to the colouring.
Half done. The rate of pain of the shading process wasnt as high as the outline cos the needle's not sharp and slim.
Almost done!
Gary's back was aching after a while so he stood up. Mine too, plus the neck but had to endure for a little while more.
DONE! :D
Perfect huh. We were blown away.

No longer a tattoo virgin! Got the character below tattooed in between my shoulder blades. It says 'Zen/Sen' in Korean and I went to look up the meaning of the word. It means 'line'. I did think that it was rather weird a meaning and considered choosing another character but I realised that the position of the word plus the meaning is actually rather apt- it also represents me turning my back on rigidities and conforming to customs/ traditions/ etc and wna be more flexible, try new things. Like me doing this tattoo. Many people have asked me to re-consider it cos I'm still young. I understand their concerns but I thought that I can definitely live with my name till I'm old and grey and wrinkly so I went ahead with it. Haha.
Alright so yesterday afternoon I headed down to Gary's tattoo studio-office behind Kovan MRT with Donna, Veronica, Deborah and Weiqin. It was a rather odd mix haha. Donna's my secondary school bowling junior, Veron's my colleague while Deb and Weiqin were my JC-mates. Donna and Veron were there cos they wanted to consult Gary about their future tats while Deb lives nearby and Weiqin was with her then. Was honoured to have them at my first tattoo experience. Haha. Much thanks to Donna and Deb cos they were my photogs for the day to document the process. Haha.

Am really pleased with the result (: Anybody thinking of getting a tat? Haha. I think Gary's a really talented artist. He's a self-taught tattoo artist. He designed the character's font for me including many other fonts such as those below.
